What Shampoo Is The Right One For Me

A lot of people are concerned about what shampoo is suitable for them. It has to be realized that people's hair varies considerably from one to another, so to find the right shampoo for your hair, you will do well to try out various shampoos in order to find the most suitable one. It's a good idea to consult a professional hairdresser for this purpose.

For instance, if you want to bulk up your hair, a good protein shampoo would be suitable to use. Protein adds a coating to your hair without actually penetrating it.

If you want make your hair to appear shiny and attractive, a shampoo containing silk is a good one to use. It also coats the hair rather than penetrate it.

Panthenol vitamin B5,on the other hand, does penetrate hair. Shampoos containing this commodity will help strengthen your hair and help keep it healthy.

A shampoo containing Jojoba (a rather expensive moisturizing oil) is good for damaged hair. The best way to treat damaged hair, however, is to trim it back to the undamaged part if feasible, because it cannot otherwise be effectively dealt with. It most certainly cannot be repaired.

Whatever shampoo you consider using, bear in mind one thing. Do not take for granted the claims made for it on the label. Check it out for yourself, or again be guided by a well trained professional.

One piece of general advice. If you can, avoid any shampoo containing sodium laureth sulfate, a foaming agent. This a fairly harsh chemical that's used in many cleansing products...including automobile engines! There may be less of it in your shampoo than in the auto cleanser, but nevertheless it is incredibly drying and will leach moisture from your hair. Check the label, as many shampoos contain it.

There is considerable doubt about the efficacy of shampoos specifically labeled for colored hair.. Some claim it actually strips color from your hair. Whether or not this is true is not certain, but BE BEWARE.

The Correct Way To Wash Your Hair Whatever Shampoo You Use

Step 1. In this step the idea is to thoroughly clean the scalp in order to remove accumulated sebum (natural oil). Pour a reasonable amount of shampoo into your hand, rub between your palms and then massage it into your scalp with your fingertips for about half a minute. There won't be much lather at this stage, but don't worry about that; lather is not as important as most people seem to think it is. In fact, professional shampoo lathers a lot less than the shampoo you buy in the shops.

Step 2. Rinse well with clean water! I really do mean rinse well. So many people fail to do this very important stage properly.

Step 3 Wash again with more shampoo.

Step 4 Rinse again, thoroughly, making sure that all residue is cleared from your scalp. You may need to repeat this process again if you have a lot of hair.

Follow the advice given and you will have lovely looking hair that everyone will admire.
